Villa Anugraha

Villa Anugraha stands as a sophisticated homestay situated in Aymanam, within the heart of Kottayam, a central district in Kerala. Nestled close to the renowned lakefront attraction of Kumarakom, this residence, resting along the tranquil backwaters of the Meenachil River, embodies the essence of unhurried living, authentic Keralan hospitality, and the breathtaking natural beauty that defines this tropical travel haven.

The Villa
Guests at Anugraha will enjoy the exclusive experience of staying in an independent villa, accompanied by two dedicated members of Anugraha house staff. To prioritize personalized attention and care, Anugraha only accepts one booking at a time. Consider your stay at Anugraha as a leisurely visit to a friend’s home in the picturesque Kerala countryside.

The villa itself is a heritage gem, with a history spanning over a century. Meticulously restored under the guidance of architect Bijoy Jain from Studio Mumbai, it boasts a blend of traditional charm and contemporary elegance. The interior is adorned with contemporary art from the family’s private collection and carefully curated design objects.

Whether you seek tranquility and seclusion or vibrant company, Anugraha caters to your preferences. Explore the thriving estate, shared with the family managing Anugraha and their three dogs—Google, Zuma, and Pepper. Spanning 7.5 acres, the property features canals, a pond, a vegetable garden, diverse tropical fruit trees, hardwoods, bamboo, and a variety of ferns—all thoughtfully designed by the acclaimed landscape architect Tom Stuart-Smith.

As a literary note, Aymanam village serves as the backdrop for Arundhati Roy’s acclaimed 1997 Booker Prize-winning novel, “The God of Small Things.”

Embrace the tropical countryside experience, complete with charming multi-legged creatures that, while harmless, play a vital role in the rich life cycle of our corner of the world.
