Preparations for the Federal Bank Kochi Marathon 2024 are now finalized, marking the countdown to the highly anticipated event. The meticulously planned route has been officially announced, adding to the excitement surrounding this grand sporting spectacle. Runners and enthusiasts alike can gear up for an unforgettable experience as the city of Kochi eagerly awaits the marathon, set to showcase the spirit of athleticism and community unity.”

Federal Bank Kochi Marathon 2024, scheduled for February 11, have reached completion. The marathon, featuring diverse categories such as the 42.195 km full marathon, 21.097 km half marathon, 10 km, and the 3 km green run, will also include a special 1.3 km run tailored for individuals with physical challenges. The event, set to take place on a World Athletics-sanctioned route, promises to be a significant sporting spectacle.

The starting point for the marathon is the Maharajas College grounds, with the flag-off scheduled for 4 am. The route, meticulously planned through

The half marathon will commence at 5 am, followed by the 10 km marathon at 6 am, the 3 km green run at 7 am, and the 1.3 km special run at 7.30 am.

A remarkable 7,280 individuals have already registered for the marathon, with a spot registration facility available during the expo on the 9th and 10th days, expecting an additional 800 to 1,000 registrations. Notably, 800 registrations have been completed for the Special Run category.

Race Director Sabari Nair expressed confidence that the Federal Bank Kochi Marathon is set to attain international recognition, with elite athletes from over ten countries and more than twenty Indian states expected to participate.

Suresh Kumar, Vice President of Federal Bank, emphasized the significance of public participation in bringing attention to the Federal Bank Kochi Marathon. He disclosed that approximately 500 Federal Bank employees would be actively participating in the marathon. The total prize money for this year’s event is an impressive fifteen lakh rupees.

To ensure a safe and well-organized marathon, the organizers have implemented elaborate arrangements. Aster Medicity Emergency Department will establish a base medical camp in the holding area, supported by six medical stations along the marathon route. Three ambulances will be on standby to handle emergencies, with all volunteers trained in essential emergency care procedures, including CPR.

Officials from the Athletics Federation of India will be present to officially observe the start and finish lines and U-turns. Tiger Balm, serving as the marathon’s official pain relief partner, will set up touchpoints throughout the route, offering support for any aches and pains runners may experience. Additionally, a relief zone, staffed by professional sports therapists, will address post-marathon discomfort.

Key figures, including Clio Sports Directors Anish K. Paul, Baiju Paul, M.R.K. Jayaram, Federal Bank Kochi Marathon Project Head Vipin Nambiar, Kerala State Athletics Association Representative Solomon Antony, and Course Director Ameer Shantivan, have actively participated in coordinating and organizing this prestigious event.
