It is based on the model of the St. Catherine Haven in London. It gives the facility of berthing for yachts. Moreover, it provides fuel, electricity, water, and sewage pump-outs for boats. The marina is situated on the southwest coast of the Indian peninsula adjacent to the International Maritime route. The weather conditions of the region are quite amiable and there are only minimum tidal variations all through the year. All these favorable conditions make the Kochi International Marina a hot favorite among tourists who come on cruises.
The Kochi International Marina provides berthing facilities for about 36 yachts. Efforts are done to enhance the berthing facility for up to 50 yachts. A three-storeyed building has been constructed next to the Bolgatty Palace to board sailors from all over the world, who visit the marina. The marina also provides facilities for the maintenance and fixing of the yachts. A golf course, spa, swimming pool, and facilities for recreation will be provided to the sailors in the second stage of development of the marina.
Kochi is the perfect berthing spot for yachts traveling to the Far East from the West. After leaving Dubai there is no berthing station for the yachts until they reach the Far East. The Kochi International Marina solves this age-long problem. Kochi has one of the most beautiful natural ports in the world. Cochin Port is located only about 11 nautical miles away from the International maritime route. This makes the Kochi International Marina a favorite spot for tourists.
