Kerala Tourism achieved the prestigious PATA Gold Awards recently. No doubt, it is certainly an appreciation for the responsible tourism initiative of Kerala Tourism Department. They bagged 2 Gold Awards for the outstanding marketing initiatives at the Pacific Asia Travel Association. The authority once again secured the position of the Kerala as a great and must-visit tourist destination of the country by achieving these two PATA Gold awards.
Obtaining two prestigious tourism awards certainly increase the popularity of the state in the tourism scenario. Kerala is among the most preferred destinations in the world when it comes to inbound tourism industry. According to Mr. A.C. Moideen, the Minister of Tourism of the state, these awards are the result of the advanced marketing techniques followed by the tourism department. These techniques help to attract more tourists to the scenic state.
India achieved 3 Gold awards at the 2016 PATA Grand and Gold Awards in the category of Marketing Media. Kerala Tourism secured two among them. One award is for the tourism E-Newsletter of the state and the second one is for the Travel Advertisement Broadcast Media for the Visit Kerala campaign.
PATA CEO, Dr. Mario Hardy commented that the winners of these awards demonstrate the importance of association in working. It helps to achieve a more responsible industry in the travel and tourism sphere in the Asia Pacific region. In fact, the 2016 PATA Grand and Gold Awards are an appreciation to celebrate their accomplishments. They have arranged PATA Gold Awards luncheon and presentation on 9th September 2016 in Indonesia at PATA Travel Mart 2016. It will be felicitated in Greater Jakarta during the PATA Travel Mart 2016.

These PATA awards announced from the Macau Government Tourism Office. They sponsor and support the awards. The E-Newsletter by the Kerala Tourism Department got recognition in the area of Marketing Media while the Kumarakom Responsible Tourism Project got appreciation in the category of Corporate Social Responsibility.
