Yas Waterworld is a magnificent and exciting amusement and water theme park that is located in Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of United Arab Emirates. It was opened to the public in January 2013.
Yas Waterworld spreads across an area of 15 hectares having 43 rides, slides and attractions. Among the rides, four of them are one of a kind which cannot be seen in any other part of the world. One of the major attraction of the park is a hydro magnetic powered tornado waterslide which can seat up to six passengers. It is the world’s first and the largest one of a kind water slide which has a length of about 238 m. If you are interested in an adrenaline pumping thrill ride then there is the Bubble’s Barrel which consists of waves up to the height of three metre. Bubble’s Barrel has the credit of having the world’s largest surf able wave sheet. Then comes the Bandit Bomber which is a coaster of 550 metre and it is the first in the world with water and laser effects.
Riders in the water slides can enjoy the time by shooting water jets at targets and drop water bombs with special effects. The people can spray water across the riders as they pass through.
Yas Waterworld’ s gigantic pearl that is perched on the top of Jebel Dana, the towering altitude of the park is the new signature landmark of Yas Island. The park is built on the theme of ‘The lost pearl’. The legendary Emirati theme is spread throughout the park, where a story slowly unfolds as you enter the park. Visitors follow the story of an Emirati girl who has embarked upon a quest for a legendary pearl. As the visitors follow the story and participate in the girl’s quest, the attractions of the Yas Waterworld gradually unveil before them. The theme of the water park is based on the rich heritage of Abu Dhabi. A souk and a pearl diving exhibits are the other major attractions of the park.
The park is open from 10 AM to 6 PM in the winter months and from 8 AM – 8 PM in the summer months.
