Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Library is a specialized state-of –the –art library that is situated in the northern minaret of the Sheikh Zayed grand mosque in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Situated in the second floor of the grand mosque’s northern minaret the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque library contains books in a wide range of cultural and scientific disciplines in twelve languages.
The library is opened to promote the continuity of Islamic tradition and heritage that has contributed greatly in the field of science, architecture and art and helped a lot in the advancement of mankind. The Arabic and Islamic eras proved to be a golden age where knowledge flourished in abundance. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque library offers a continuity to the rich Arabic and Islamic eras.
The library can be considered as a lighthouse that guides the ignorant people to the world of science and knowledge. It was opened to public in 2010.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque library houses many valuable manuscripts and rare work of literature including the European prints of the Quran that was written between 1537 and 1857. The total number of manuscripts in the library is more than 50,000. The library has also the largest collection of books based on Islamic culture and heritage. Information is transformed in a variety of forms in the library including books, maps, manuscripts and electronic sources.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque library also contains a set of encyclopedias, and references along with a collection of novels and stories that are translated from English, French and Spanish literature. All the rich source of knowledge in the library is accessible to students, scholars, researchers and voracious readers.
It is open on all days except on Fridays and all national and religious holidays.
