Due to the significant presence of Infopark and various institutions and industries in Kochi, there is a substantial influx of people visiting the city for work and other commitments. In response to this, the Kochi Corporation has introduced a novel initiative by launching “She Lodge” offering a secure accommodation option for women staying overnight in the city. Targeting students, working women, and solo or group travelers, She Lodge provides affordable lodging with extensive facilities, including 96 rooms and two dormitories. Notable amenities encompass a 24-hour security service, a library, and uninterrupted power and water supply. The accommodation, often fully booked, can host up to 192 people daily, with high demand on weekends.
The pricing structure includes Rs 100 for a dormitory, Rs 200 for a single room, and Rs 350 for a double room designed for two occupants. Operating hours are from 6 am to 9 pm, and any woman with valid identification documents is welcome to stay. Both online and offline booking options are available for the rooms. Conveniently situated on North Paramara Road, Ernakulam, adjacent to the Kudumbashree Hotel Samriddhi@Kochi, She Lodge is easily accessible from the Ernakulam Town Railway Station, Town Hall metro station, and North bus stop. While She Lodge doesn’t currently provide food services, nearby hotels offer accessible dining options.
She Lodge emerged through the renovation of the Libra Hotel, a property owned by the corporation. Although the renovation commenced in 2017, it gained momentum under the new council in 2020. Despite a budget allocation of Rs 5.54 crore from the Janakiya project fund for 2020-21, the project was completed at a cost of Rs 3.54 crore. Minister M.B. Rajesh inaugurated She Lodge in November of the preceding year, and it officially opened its doors to the public on March 8, Women’s Day. In just six months since its inception, more than 2,500 women have utilized the services offered by She Lodge.

The She Lodge operates around the clock, ensuring essential staff for management and the well-being of women within the Kochi city council. Livelihood support is also provided. Both online and offline accommodation bookings are available, with admission granted only to those providing valid identification. Please note that entry is restricted to females.
