Not Permitted By The Police; No Que Booking Was Started For 28 And 27
Virtual Que Booking for darshan did not commence on the 26th and 27th, the pivotal days of Sabarimala Mandala Puja, due to the denial of permission by the police.
The Thanka Anki*, positioned on the Ayyappa idol for Mandala Puja, is scheduled to reach Sannidhanam on the evening of the 26th. The Mandala Puja itself is set for noon on the 27th. Following the Ucha Puja on the 26th, pilgrims must ascend the Pathinettam Padi until the Thangaangi procession arrives later in the evening. Unfortunately, the booking process has not commenced due to the absence of police instructions regarding the virtual queue and the number of people permitted.
The Mandala Puja is scheduled for noon on the 27th. Regrettably, the Devaswom Board was not notified of its timing. The procession will conclude on the same day upon completing the Mandalkala Pilgrimage.
What does the term ‘Thanka Anki *Sabarimala’ refer to?
In the 1970s, the Travancore royal family presented a Thanka Anki weighing 453 sovereigns to Lord Ayyappa. This sacred attire was traditionally stored at the Aranmula Parthasarathy temple and transported to the hill shrine during the Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season.
