The drive from Kochi to Malayattoor is around 1 hour and it will take 45 minutes to reach the top after hiking the mountain for an amazing view across verdant mountains and to take rest aided by the single priest on the church at the top of the mountain. The Church has a life-size statue of St. Thomas and the imprint that is believed to be of the feet of the Apostle on a rock. Attractions on the top of the mountain include The Ancient Chapel – Struck By The Elephants, Sannidhi which is a chapel, which serves as a place of worship on the hill top, Marthoma Mandapam where the relic of St:Thomas is preserved which is carved in accordance with the blending of Indian archaeological traditions etc. This is a pretty nice option for an one day trip in and around Kochi which can be completed in a day.
Gavi Jeep Safari

However, entry to Gavi from Angamuzhi has now been banned and only 100 visitors per day will be permitted to go up to Anathodu from Angamuzhi and that too on the condition that they come back to Angamuzhi from the forest area.
