Abu Dhabi is a modern city which attracts lots of visitors. Tourists throng to this place to visit to experience the high rise building, malls, shopping, sand dunes, oasis, desert safari, camel ride and lots more.
One major attraction is the Abu Dhabi Heritage Village run by the Emirates Heritage Club. Here you could see the reconstruction of a traditional oasis village that will take you to the country’s past and its rich heritage.
The desert ways of life are displayed here. You could see campfire with coffee posts, a goats’ hair tent, and a falaj/r irrigation system, are attractively showcased in the open/r museum. Here you could witness workshops where craftsmen demonstrate/r traditional skills, such as metal work and pottery, while /r women sit weaving and spinning.
Craftsmen here are quite happy to share their skills, and occasionally give you opportunity to try them out. There is also a little spice shop that sells a range of dried herbs, handmade soap and plenty of chatter.
