On Thursday, November 16, 2023, the Cochin International Airport will inaugurate a pioneering facilitation center for Sabarimala pilgrims. This marks the first instance of such a facility in any airport across India, as announced in a communication from the airport on the preceding Wednesday. The center will be situated in close proximity to the police aid post at the domestic arrival point. The inauguration ceremony, scheduled for 5 p.m., will be officiated by Industries Minister P. Rajeev.
The Facilitation Center, situated in close proximity to the CIAL Police Aid Post, accommodates up to 30 individuals for relaxation. Within the center, amenities such as a pre-paid taxi counter, flight information system, 24-hour food counter, and provisions for prayer and pooja have been established to enhance the overall experience.
