In the Pampa police control room, a helpline number has been established to assist devotees undertaking pilgrimages during Mandala Makaravilak and other Sabarimala-related events. This service has been operational since the 2016-17 season.
A dedicated team of multilingual police officers, led by a Sub-Inspector (SI), is stationed at the control room to manage the helpline. The helpline number has been strategically placed on various paths leading to Sabarimala, ensuring visibility for pilgrims. Additionally, the number is affixed to KSRTC buses. This helpline proves especially valuable for pilgrims from different states and those unfamiliar with multiple languages, offering information and solutions.
The district police chief emphasized that the helpline number serves a range of purposes. Pilgrims can contact it for inquiries about the virtual queue, parking, darshanam rush, puja timings, vehicle workshops, missing companions, and situations involving accidents, among other matters.
